Two weeks’ gross pay for every year of continuous service, plus one additional week — with weekly pay capped at €600. Example: 5 years at €500/week = 11 weeks × €500 = €5,500, entirely tax-free.

Employees with at least 104 weeks (2 years) of continuous service whose job ceases to exist. It applies to full-time and part-time employees, and to fixed-term workers whose role is made redundant.

The statutory payment is completely tax-free. Anything your employer pays on top (an ex-gratia payment) can be taxable, but generous exemptions usually apply — the basic exemption is €10,160 plus €765 per year of service.
